Stratford-Upon-Avon

Alright, so the trip was called Theatre in London and was a class taken for credit at Calvin. This trip was seriously the highlight of my two years at Calvin. While we stayed in Stratford-Upon-Avon we saw three shows...Julius Caesar, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Beauty and the Beast. Julius Caesar was probably the best of those three. It was placed in modern times and was really funny, the worst part was when they ripped out some guy's heart and then hung it on him. Then three of them, including the dead guy, broke into song...It's w-w-w-w-war! Really crazy stuff but a good show. Beauty and the Beast was pretty good, one girl who was on the trip looks kinda like a little kid and she was sitting in the front row. So then came this part where they throw one bag of cotton candy into the audience, it went straight to her. She also got the wings when we were on the plane. Anyway, the set was choppy and the when the beast turned back into the prince it was quite the disappointment. Let's see, also while in Stratford I toured the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre and Warwick Castle which had a real dungeon! And torture devices...? Pretty sweet.

The trip...

Well, it was my first time flying so I was a little nervous but okay. We first flew to Detroit and then were delayed for a couple of hours. When we finally started to taxi there was some sort of pressure problem so we had to go back to the gate. We were scheduled to leave at 9:30p.m. or something like that and we didn't leave until about 2:30a.m. So the first flight experience was not so great. But finally getting into the bed and breakfast and getting some sleep in a real bed was amazing. I love London!

Introduction

Though it was two years ago my trip to London will forever be etched in my memory. It was a large part of my life where I met some of my closest friends and had one of the most incredible experiences of my life. So it is here where I will relive these memories for a short time, at least until the assignment is over, possibly longer.
