My Dress! (and other things)

So if you haven't heard my wedding dress came in the other day! I absolutely love it! It is SO BEAUTIFUL! I also bought shoes to go with it today, a bit untraditional because they're not white but I think they look really nice with it. Of course I haven't actually tried them on together yet because I can't get into my dress without help and I won't until I go to my fittings. So then I'll decide if they actually look good together.

This past weekend Aunt Delaire came up from Alabama and surprised Aunt Damian. Then they both came and stayed with Mom H., John and I. It was so much fun. On Friday I picked up my dress with my mom and then she took me to their house. It was nice to see the aunts again since I haven't seen them since the beginning of March. Which isn't a long time considering I won't see them again until the wedding. But they are so much fun to be around and I'll post some pictures that we took outside the house later. Mom H. got new carpet laid on Friday too so when the three of them went out dancing John and I vacuumed and cleaned it all up so that they could relax when they got home (which wasn't until 2 a.m. mind you.) John and I were worried sick! Not really, but aunt Delaire felt the need to make up excuses like a teenager would. "You wouldn't believe it! First, we ran out of gas and then we got a flat tire!" At first I was genuinely concerned until I realized she was just being her hilarious self.

On Saturday John and I went to a wedding for one of his coworkers. It was nice. The flower girl and the ring bearer were so cute and at first they didn't want to go down the aisle but then the ring bearer grabbed the flower girl's hand and ran down to the front. It was adorable! After the ceremony John and I went to Olga's and Sears before hitting the reception. The reception was at the Cultural Center on East Paris. It was nice but the dance floor was in a room that connected to the dinning room so we couldn't see any of the nice dances. But that's okay, we had a nice time talking with John's "boss" Chris and his wife and another coworker. It was also an open bar so we took a bit of an advantage of that but not much, John indulged by trying things he wouldn't normally try since still had to drive. After we got home we hung out with the family again and aunt Delaire showed us a very funny wedding video on youtube. Aunt Damian also showed us a great video of some tap dancers from America's Got Talent. On Sunday John and I missed church so that we could have a few last minutes with them before they had to leave. It was a great weekend!

Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Graduation

I just got done meeting with an advisor and he worked it out so I can graduate! I'm so excited. Now I can focus on wedding plans and getting a real job. Just wanted to let everyone know. Oh, and FYI: I'm not walking just so everyone knows.

Come one, come all

So it must have been national "bring your naughty, screaming, out-of-control child to Target" day. It was absolutely awful! There was one kid who was screaming at the top of his lungs in the highest pitch I've ever heard and the mom just kept shushing him. I couldn't believe it. Okay, maybe you don't believe in spanking or using a little bit of force on your child but obviously the shushing isn't working, so let's try something else, shall we?! So finally, after giving me a headache, they leave. Well just a couple minutes after that I can hear a kid screaming from the other side of the store. Seriously, if your child can't behave take them to the bathroom, take them to the car, take them to the park for all I care but just get them out of the store! How rude to bother other customers and the employees all over the store just because you can't control your own child. Now obviously I've never had a child, but I can't imagine putting up with that kind of behavior for so long. My kids will be in serious trouble if they ever come close to acting the way some of these kids do. All right, I'm done with that rant, thanks for listening.

Other than that, school is coming to a close and I need to get a job! I'm going to start applying anywhere and everywhere. Well, maybe not quite that much but I'm going to apply a lot of places. So if you know of any openings anywhere please let me know. I also want to say that I am very proud of my final project for my film/video class. I did this video all on my own for the most part. Sarah helped me notice some things that were going to be problematic during filming so that was nice. But as far as actually working the camera and editing, that was all me. If you want to see the final product Sarah is going to burn it onto a DVD so anyone can see it if they want.

I guess that's all for now, I'll update more about wedding plans and fun things like that later.

Registration

Wedding planning is going well. John and I just got registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. We certainly need to get more though, we don't have nearly enough things on there. As the wedding draws closer I get more and more excited. I can't wait till school is done so that I can focus completely on my wedding in my spare time.

We went to a wedding the other weekend where John was the best man. It was a lot of fun and we got some great ideas for our wedding. We are also going to another wedding on April 19 which I think will be way over the top (they're having an open bar!). There is no way we can do anything as nice as the weddings we are going to right now but ours will be fun. And we really don't need to spend 20 grand on our wedding, I want to save some money if we can and get a nice place to live and start saving for a house.

John and I are also trying to find a nice place to live. We really just want to get our names on some lists so that we'll have a better chance of having a place to live that one of us can move into before the actual wedding. I'm very excited about all of this and to think our wedding is less than seven months away!
