Shower

I had my bridal shower Saturday and it was fabulous! A big thanks to everyone who helped out with it and to everyone who got us something...the gifts were amazing and so much more than I ever expected. Here's an incomplete list.

China
Good silverware
Everyday silverware
Picture frames
Baking pans
Colander (2 - one plastic and one stainless steel)
Noodles and pasta sauce
Comforter
Throw Pillows
Wall Hangings
Ice cube trays
Wooden spoons
Flatware tray
Dishes
Crock pot
Wok
Cutting board
Gift card to Bed, Bath and Beyond (which John and I used some of today)
and lots and lots of recipes!

I'm sure I missed some things since I don't have the list in front of me but I'm so thankful for all these gifts...they are truly a blessing. We also played some fun games. The first was to guess how many tootsie rolls were in a jar. Aunt Marie won that. Then they passed around a gift to different people (the mother of the bride, the person with the smallest shoe size, etc...) until it ended with the person to Kindra's right. Kindra's boss, Deb, won that one. Finally each person had to give me eight pieces of advice, each starting with a different letter of my first and middle name. John's cousin Rachel won that one. Her advice was "share the covers with Johnny." Always a good idea. When I have the advice in front of me I'll share all my favorites with people. Though I one I absolutely love is my quote of the day.

Saturday night John and I went to a party that one of his coworkers was having. I was able to get to know some of his coworkers better. His boss was there for a little while with his new son, Noah, who is so cute! We had a great time. Today we went to church and then to our house before I headed off to work. Besides having to work today I had a great weekend.

Quote of the Day: "Run, don't walk to church." - Aunt Marie

Joke of the Day: A friend said to me, "I think the weather is trippy." I said, "No, man, it's not the weather that's trippy, perhaps it's the way we perceive it that is indeed trippy." And then I realized I just should have just said, "Yeah." - MH
